HI VAULTAGE
Just dredging up old stuff for a laugh.
One of my first casts before being painted in a camo style. I painted 3 camos each different. One I am happy to say Mori from RXH chose when I was in Japan.
This shot shows how tippy this sculpt really is. It's what I wanted to achieve, but I 'spose I was dreamn thinking it wouldnt be a problem. I know have to drill a magnet into the foot and make a metal base for it can stand more secure. The pour spout attaches to the base of the foot and has to be cut and ground, affecting each one differently...a hell of a job.
Here is the first base I made, deco styley. Cutting this out with shitty tools made it difficult so it was the only one I made like this.

SABERTONGUE & MERPANDAMAN
To the rescue!
2 new characters, Sabertongue & Merpandaman!
Yes, silly names for silly dudes.
I really like them the way they are and dont want to get too finicky on 'em.
A few little touch ups and done.
After finding some cheap silicone I can start the molding process. It maybe summer in Aus but Im glacial. Then, they'll be ready to Do their SUPER HEROEY DUTIES! Like what you say? Well I think... serius stuf, like tickling a grumpy 9-5er! Or a keyboard commando!?
Or hosing down some smelly ferals, giving us all some welcome relief?
Maybe a drubbing from sabertongue? Who knows? But I do know they're chomping at the bit to get started!
Plus I might have a few tricks up my sleeve with the toy design (if I get my shit together)
So please tune in again and see what happens with these two weirdo's next.

Man I wrote this about 2 weeks ago now, since then I've been moving house, which still isn't ready (still awaiting the kitchen and bathroom to be finished). So I haven't had the chance to get on the net often enough.
So here 'ti's..a small review on 3 of the toys I bought in Japan...
I'm packing to move house at the moment so haven't been able to unpack some of my booty from my Japan trip.
I managed to snap a few the other day out the front in some bright but overcast light.
My first boogie... baby,
So stoked to find this one at a good price, I loved it when it was released.
I also saw some very expensive mib boogies upward of 3-400 at Mandarake :/
A thing of beauty, awesome colours awesome drippy beauty.
Dr Mortality!
A big surprise for me was Secret Base.
For some reason or other, never really a big fan, for which I'm grateful for as that shit was expensive a few years back! But after seeing it in person I have to say... I get it, and ... since SB is such a big part of Japanese vinyl, about time hey.
There's that something special about SB toys,a simpleness?... not sure, but there is something about their designs overall. Anyway, heaps of cheap SB at Mandarake :) I wish I got more, I was a bit pissed at not grabbing a sweet cheap gid orange obake.
and also missed out on an all black Obake Dog for 2000yen! (not sure, but thats gotta be a good price).... but the guy who scored it was a real SB fan, an older fella and cool guy as we had a friendly chat about SB vinyl.
My first SB piece was a blue GID ghost.
A fun simple design that glows like Chernobyl cheese! Turning the lights out in the ryokan was so great at the end of the night.
Any way, back to Dr mortality, this was another toy that didnt appeal over the net, but seeing in person really blew me away!
I gotta say it was probably the marbled vinyl that really got me with this toy, it's not purple spray on a green vinyl, its marbled. And interestingly each one was, pretty much all marbled in the same places with only minor differences. I knew this 'coz the friendly staff allowed me to paw over a bunch of 'em so I could pick one I liked best. Yep that marbling is a one cool gimmick!
I saw a few other Dr mortality's at mandarake and the colours didnt do it for me so I am very glad to have this one though the pale pink one was so wrong it was kinda cool.
All in all one bad ass toy.
Toygraph UFO MOFO (actual name GUNHEAD creature on a flying saucer)
The next one was a big surprise for me because as soon as I saw it on the net I was excited and even though I ended up buying both versions, when I first saw it in the shop I had mixed feelings about it. It was much bigger than I thought, big and chunky (about the size of a medium frisbee), looking more like a cheap kiddies toy than the smaller, tighter production I had in mind. I thought maybe Toygraph had missed the mark on this one, but after sitting on my shelf for a bit, has definitely grown on me.. and photographing it today has me totally digging it and enjoying it for what it is. A big chunky piece 'o' fun vinyl, heaps of crazy detail, brash and nutso. I mean its got a six shooter head! A cyclops gorilla shoulder! And totes a double whammy chainsaw! Plus other surprises. This thing is brutal!
Nearly all black, (except for its bright pink ride) alot of the detail gets lost.
I have to say its one of the oddest toys recently released but I like it.
(though just quietly..I'd love to see this at half the size with the same detail)
Fun as.
What I liked most about the toy experience in Japan was the chance to see things I didnt think I liked upclose and getting a fresh perspective. The net is great but in person is the best.

TRASHTOY- junkomake
Don't let your baby brother fuck up ALL your good toys. Throw him this rats arse and watch him beam with glee as his smashes it down the drain hole or feeds it to his pet ferret...and feel smug knowing youv'e done your bit!
Ive been cutting up cheap toys and rearranging them for a bit now...real bubblegummy fun. When I cant be bothered doing anything, I go out to the shed and cut up a bunch of cheap toys and stick 'em back together. Living in Western Australia isn't exactly a mecca for toys bar cheap maccas crappola. At our swapmeets even the crappiest of things, people want good money for...dumb but I suppose it is because of where we are. Perth is said to be the most isolated city in the world. This has all sorts of ramdickations and one of the more serious ones is the crap swapmeets/flea markets!!;)
So you could say I have out of necessity bought a lot of REALLY crappy toys, not COOL crappy. CRAP CRAPPY and for light relief, chopped em up.
Ive learned to enjoy, even appreciate the humble charm of this wackest of wack arts.. Really the crapper the better, chop the head of one thing and stick it on the body of another. Incongruity the name of the game. I don't like to gt all fancy gluing lots of pieces together to make a multi piece monstrosity, that would be work. The simplicity is the charm, I do this to let of steam when I cant be eff'd working. I've sent a couple of my fav's out with the last Monkster's order. So next time order a Monkster and recieve your FREE Munted Masher!!
My oh so colourful header for the nebulords collecionne' oh yes its a collecionne' bitches.. suber fuck & limited...end bombaste with a cold drink of milk..
..So I got a wacom tablet about 3 months ago, tried it and thought..what the fuck how'my meant to draw something down here while I'm looking up here!? and promptly found something better/easier to do. Then came the need to make a header for this release so after drawing the image I couldnt be f***ed gitt'n the messy paints out in my shitstorm of an office/tudio thing. So wallah...there was this dusty shit covered new wacom tablet flashing its slate at me....
by the way when I told my friend what I was using, he said "oh what, like a magna doodle?!.... yep! cant argue with that i said:)
Anyway, so I got it out and started to colour with it. WOW it was pretty cool fun. So yep this is my 1st rough and rushed attempt at painting with a usb powered magna doodle.(aka etcha sketch),in all it's dodginess.
